Studying at Avila is easy but there are steps you need to go through in order to start your education here! Visit our FAQ page to learn more about the process and answer questions you have before you start.

Get Started Today!

This is the first step in the process. Once you apply, you will receive a confirmation email confirming registration and outlining any missing documents you may need to provide. Ready to get started? Apply here!

Once Avila has received all your required documents, your application will be reviewed by our admissions team. You will be notified of a decision on your application via email, so please ensure this is up to date and an email you can access.

All students must demonstrate that they can show financial means to cover the tuition and living expenses of the program they are applying for.

Once the necessary financial documents have been submitted, they will be reviewed by the Avila DSO team and confirmed if they meet the requirements for an I-20 to be issued. If there are any queries or issues with the documents provided, you will receive a notification from the Avila team.

Your I-20 will be issued after your financial documents have been approved by our DSO. The I-20 will be sent to you via email, and you should check the document to ensure all details are correct.

After your I-20 has been sent another email will follow introducing you to your Academic Advisor

If you don’t want to live on campus, there are a variety of housing options within close proximity to campus. See a preferred list here. Avila recommends that all international students stay on campus as we believe it provides the best option for students who would like to have a fully immersive experience while they study in the US.

Every international student is automatically enrolled in medical insurance provided by Avila’s insurance plan. You will be billed for this insurance and it will show up on your bill. More information about insurance is provided in your Pre-Arrival Guide.

Shortly after your acceptance and deposit, you will be sent a Pre-Arrival Guide. This guide will provide you all the information you need to know about arriving in Kansas City, and about Avila University. Make sure you read this information thoroughly so you know what to expect. A copy of the guide can be found here.

In order to make sure you arrive and are greeted and welcomed in the Avila way, we want to know when your arrival date is. Some information we will request is:

  • When are you flying?
  • What are your flight details?
  • Have you booked accommodations and if so, are they on campus or off campus?
  • Do you have transportation from airport?

It is important you fill out the following pre-arrival form.

It is very important that you are settled in before Orientation Day. This day will be a long-day of important information to help you get settled in and to begin your time as an Avila Eagle! During Orientation, you will be confirmed as fully enrolled and will be issued your payment for your first semester.
